That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. Hílton Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Paiva in the 13th minute of the match. After having played for 24 minutes, Dieguinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FIEL ALGUSTA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dieguinho Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 27 minutes, Percival Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FIEL ALGUSTA and the Santos City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Percival Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hílton Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Santos City's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguinho Borges came free, but Hílton Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jânio Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The supporters of FIEL ALGUSTA booed when Santos City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dieguinho Borges made a kick off. Remo Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Furlan in the 53rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ian Ramalho during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jânio Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo Munhoz having to interfere. 88 minutes in the game Arlindo Montenegro did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jânio Hermes. After 96th play minutes Dieguinho Borges shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Hílton Hermes and just under the crossbar into goal. FIEL ALGUSTA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
