In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper Celsinho Terra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Psiu!'s Amadeu Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo da Fonseca in the 9th minute of play. A well placed Matheus Paiva short distance shot in the 12th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Psiu!'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emerson Figueiredo was slow to take the kick. During this time Engenheiros da Vila's players had a chance to rest. If Tony Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Engenheiros da Vila's zone, Tony Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Terra came out of the goal and Tony Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute, Paulo Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Nildo Dantas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celsinho Terra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Carlos Alberto Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper Celsinho Terra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Domingues. After 38 minutes, Tony Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Psiu! and the Engenheiros da Vila players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th match minute, Psiu! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Psiu!'s Toninho Viana got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute, Matheus Paiva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Celsinho Terra. The goal made the score 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Felippe Gomes made the kick off in the second half. Celsinho Terra came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Psiu!'s Matheus Paiva. But to his dismay, Matheus Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Felippe Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Sousa having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tony Domingues in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celsinho Terra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Psiu! booed when Engenheiros da Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Domingues came free, but Celsinho Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Terra having to interfere. Psiu!'s Tony Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Psiu! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 94 minutes, Tony Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Psiu!'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
