The referee ignored Psiu!'s protests and gave Roberto de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. Celsinho Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Psiu!'s goalkeeper Amadeu Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilberto Rodrigues. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Alcântara in the 19th minute of play forced Engenheiros da Vila's goalkeeper Celsinho Terra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st match minute, Psiu! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Leite to maneuver through the defense. Tony Alcântara scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celsinho Terra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Celsinho Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Alcântara in the 33rd minute of play. The Engenheiros da Vila players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Psiu! were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Leite to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jonas Cearense made a precise shot to the right of Amadeu Sousa. Psiu!'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Leandro da Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeu Sousa was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. With a little luck, Engenheiros da Vila's Celsinho Terra got control of the ball when Toninho Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Engenheiros da Vila getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Eriberto Tavares hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Psiu!'s Maurício Melo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Celsinho Terra. That made the score 1-2 after 76 minutes of play. In the 80th minute, Afonso Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celsinho Terra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matheus Paiva during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 83 played minutes Psiu! got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Paiva. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Psiu! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emerson Figueiredo, 90 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Engenheiros da Vila's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Dantas came free, but Celsinho Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Psiu!'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
