A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Gugu Leme hit a great ball. With a little luck, Velho Barreiro FC's José Carlos Cardoso got control of the ball when Renato Pena tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 9th minute Christian Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Carlos Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Renato Pena sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Pena got free with José Carlos Cardoso in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Velho Barreiro FC's José Carlos Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Velho Barreiro FC from getting a goal against them. Iuri Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute of the match, Renato Pena got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Carlos Cardoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Elano Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. José Carlos Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Renato Pena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Carlos Cardoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A hard shot 43 in the game by Renato Pena from a close distance when the talented José Carlos Cardoso managed to make a qualified save. Velho Barreiro FC's players were relieved. The Velho Barreiro FC fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Velho Barreiro FC's Christian Messias looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Tróia made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Velho Barreiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Messias to maneuver through the defense. When Alberto Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the ATHLETICO PRaiano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tróia couldn't finish the play. José Carlos Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Pena in the 56th minute of the match. After 58 minutes of play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Iuri Arruda made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Carlos Cardoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Velho Barreiro FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Breno Prado hit a great ball. César Severo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Carlos Cardoso. Velho Barreiro FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Carlos Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iuri Arruda in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Velho Barreiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Pena came free, but José Carlos Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renato Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Cardoso having to interfere. With 72 minutes on the clock, José Paulo Almeida commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. José Paulo Almeida hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Armandinho Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arlindo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armandinho Teixeira during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Velho Barreiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Armandinho Teixeira. In the 77th minute Iuri Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Carlos Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Velho Barreiro FC's José Carlos Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Pena in the 84th minute of play. Renato Pena struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. José Carlos Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATHLETICO PRaiano. Marcelinho Moraes hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 played minutes, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Chicão Vargas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Carlos Cardoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ATHLETICO PRaiano reached it. José Carlos Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Pena in the 90th minute of play. Velho Barreiro FC's José Carlos Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Pena in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. ATHLETICO PRaiano fully deserved thier win.
