After a rather tough play, MALAIA FDFDF's Thomás Mineiro got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Jânio Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jânio Neves scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frédson da Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sebastião de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Chaves do 8 FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião de Senna couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute, Jânio Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Douglas Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Antunes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jânio Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MALAIA FDFDF's Frédson da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Neves in the 69th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Jânio Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frédson da Rocha. MALAIA FDFDF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jânio Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After having played for 73 minutes, Fabinho de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chaves do 8 FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabinho de Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Murillo Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Netto having to interfere. Afonso Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jânio Neves got free with Frédson da Rocha in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Chaves do 8 FC booed when MALAIA FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Sebastião de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Chaves do 8 FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MALAIA FDFDF.
