After 18 minutes of play, Várzea F.C.'s Alessandro Mandrak made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edmílson Matos was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Jailson Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 23rd minute Jailson Koehler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmílson Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Santos in the 29th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Serafim Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmílson Matos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruninho Arósio went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Jailson Koehler took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edmílson Matos. Edmílson Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 38 minutes into the match, Alessandro Mandrak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmílson Matos. AFC - Curitiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alessandro Mandrak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Edmílson Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jailson Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Alessandro Mandrak hit a great ball. Bruninho Arósio struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Edmílson Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Várzea F.C..

The wind increased when Alessandro Mandrak made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Edmílson Matos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Albertinho Travassos got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The audience was convinced that César Siqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmílson Matos was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. 57 minutes into the match, Alessandro Mandrak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmílson Matos. The crowd rose to their feet as Alessandro Mandrak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edmílson Matos. That made the score 1-7 in the 66 minute of play. With a little luck, AFC - Curitiba's Edmílson Matos got control of the ball when Jailson Koehler tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jailson Koehler succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-8 in the 75th playminute. AFC - Curitiba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Ramiro Rosado scored to the left of an out of position Edmílson Matos, making the score, 1-11.
