In the 15th minute Marquinhos Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Azevedo in the 26th minute of play forced SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Roberto Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ricart Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Álvaro Neto hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson Leão came free, but Pedrinho Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rubens Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SRP-Laguna's protests and gave Rubens Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Rubens Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Ricart Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson Leão came free, but Pedrinho Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gerson Leão made the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in SRP-Laguna fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! After some careless play in the SRP-Laguna defense, Jacinto Macedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roberto Barbosa. The SRP-Laguna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roberto Barbosa should have stopped the shot. Roberto Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marquinhos Azevedo in the 72nd minute of play. SRP-Laguna's Nelsinho Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SRP-Laguna booed when Ricart Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simão Duarte kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Marquinhos Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
