The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Oscar Veiga took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Luiz Fernando Trigo to make any attempt to save it. Doriva Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Ezequiel Pombal hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Oscar Veiga put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Fernando Trigo. After 18 played minutes Marília AC got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Barreto. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Oscar Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. GLADIADORES's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Marília AC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oscar Veiga fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Oscar Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Oscar Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the GLADIADORES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Veiga couldn't finish the play. Oscar Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Veiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Luiz Fernando Trigo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Veiga in the 51st minute of play forced Marília AC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ezequiel Pombal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luiz Fernando Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. If Oscar Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When GLADIADORES's Oscar Veiga in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marília AC's goalie prevented a goal. Doriva Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oscar Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Luiz Fernando Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes GLADIADORES got a freekick which was hit by Ian Cunha. After having played for 88 minutes, Vânderson Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marília AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vânderson Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that GLADIADORES were the better team. GLADIADORES's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
