The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lupere FC - DMZ's Gonçalo Baptista was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 6th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Flavinho Tavares hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Gonçalo Baptista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Francisco Costa having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Gonçalo Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Baptista in the 30th minute of play forced Guarei FC's goalkeeper João Francisco Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Flavinho Tavares got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 33 played minutes Guarei FC got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo Bezerra. 40 minutes into the game, Lupere FC - DMZ's Gonçalo Baptista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Francisco Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gonçalo Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Costa having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Baptista in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Francisco Costa saved Guarei FC from getting behind.

João Francisco Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Baptista in the 51st minute of the match. Gonçalo Baptista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Francisco Costa having to make a save. Zé Augusto Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Baptista in the 60th minute of play forced Guarei FC's goalkeeper João Francisco Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Francisco Costa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonçalo Baptista went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In a very dangerous position, a player in Guarei FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Lupere FC - DMZ. Jardel Guimarães stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving João Francisco Costa. 4-0. After 69 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Xavier. 77 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lupere FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarei FC the free kick. A collision led to Lupere FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Cristóvão Alves hit a great ball. After 84th play minutes Gonçalo Baptista shot 6-0, a short shot which went by João Francisco Costa and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 86th minute, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Guarei FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Baptista came free, but João Francisco Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lupere FC - DMZ's Gonçalo Baptista in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guarei FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Gonçalo Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
