When Durvalino Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Lupere FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Ortiz couldn't finish the play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Guarei FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! João Francisco Costa had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Jardel Guimarães's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Guarei FC defense, Jardel Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of João Francisco Costa. The Guarei FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Francisco Costa should have stopped the shot. Walmir Leme made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Elói Prado sent off a good shot on target. After 37 played minutes Guarei FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Sabóia. In the 38th minute of the match Jardel Guimarães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Francisco Costa skillfully saved the ball. Lupere FC - DMZ's Gonçalo Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Guarei FC's Elói Prado got a free kick in the 44th minute. João Francisco Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Gonçalo Baptista made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Baptista got free with João Francisco Costa in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Francisco Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Flavinho Tavares got a free kick in the 67th minute. Cristian Cavalcante hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Nando Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. João Francisco Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonçalo Baptista in the 77th minute.
