A collision led to ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hélio Dante hit a great ball. Maurício Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Maurício Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Cavalcante in the 19th minute of play. When Elói Prado came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Guarei FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elói Prado couldn't finish the play. A collision led to ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fabrício Mandrak hit a great ball. The supporters of ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ booed when Guarei FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Maurício Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Cavalcante in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho Mota in the 35th minute of play forced ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's goalkeeper Maurício Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Guarei FC's Toninho Simão. But to his dismay, Toninho Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mané Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. João Francisco Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Elói Prado made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Maurício Veiga successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 56th minute, Téo Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Elói Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarei FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 68 minutes, Elói Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarei FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elói Prado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Mané Ramalho notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa. João Francisco Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Fabrício Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarei FC's protests and gave Fabrício Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Guarei FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Sabóia. In the 75th minute of the match Hélio Dante sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Francisco Costa skillfully saved the ball. When ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's Mané Ramalho in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guarei FC's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Maurício Veiga managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Guarei FC's Rui Silveira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 92nd match minute, Guarei FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Mané Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Francisco Costa was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Guarei FC played a much better game than ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ and deserved their victory. The ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
