Túlio Vinhas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's Bernardo Vinhas got a free kick in the 7th minute. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Túlio Vinhas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival do Vale went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival do Vale in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Túlio Vinhas saved Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ from getting behind. Futbol Club RRFV's Hamílton Simão got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Túlio Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dorival do Vale during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bernardo Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. When Eurico Lira came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Futbol Club RRFV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico Lira couldn't finish the play. Hamílton Simão took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Túlio Vinhas. Túlio Vinhas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 42nd minute, Eliseu Velasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Egídio Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's Túlio Vinhas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ from getting a goal against them. Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's Túlio Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Moraes in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's Fred Duarte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldinho Cardozo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Rosa in the 66th minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Velasco struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Osvaldinho Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ. Hamílton Simão took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Túlio Vinhas. Túlio Vinhas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. In the 80thth minute of the game Enrique Rosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futbol Club RRFV's Osvaldinho Cardozo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Rosa scored 2-7 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvaldinho Cardozo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 2-8 when Hamílton Simão sped through Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Túlio Vinhas. Osvaldinho Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Cunha in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Duarte came free, but Osvaldinho Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamílton Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Túlio Vinhas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Dorival do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Atletico Natalense FC-DMZ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Futbol Club RRFV's performance. The match ended with a win for Futbol Club RRFV.
