The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Squadra Demarchi booed when Brazil Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murilo Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Claudinho Loyola in the 7th minute really tested Gilberto Abraão's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 7 minutes, Armando Meira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brazil Academy and the Squadra Demarchi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Brazil Academy got a freekick which was hit by Armando Meira. Kléber Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Gilberto Abraão made a huge save. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Cido Paranaense with Virgílio Dantas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Valdo de Almeida made in the 17th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Squadra Demarchi's Samuel Ribeiro. Gilberto Abraão made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Kléber Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Fiori Ferraz's late challenge caught a Squadra Demarchi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiori Ferraz helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes Brazil Academy got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Ferraz. Kléber Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Gilberto Abraão made a huge save. Richard Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Gilberto Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Brazil Academy getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Percival Linares hit a great ball. Squadra Demarchi's Claudinho Loyola couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Brazil Academy. Gilberto Abraão was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Rafael da Rocha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rafael da Rocha really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Alexsandro Britto came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Squadra Demarchi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexsandro Britto couldn't finish the play. Richard Moura hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexsandro Britto to make the kick off. Gilberto Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexsandro Britto in the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match Squadra Demarchi got a corner. Brazil Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claudinho Loyola ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Squadra Demarchi's Claudinho Loyola to fire away a dangerous shot which Gilberto Abraão despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. César Torres's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Oscar Saldanha firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper Oscar Saldanha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Squadra Demarchi's attentive Samuel Ribeiro managed to snatch the ball when Valdo de Almeida made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. In the 73rd minute Kléber Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. César Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Saldanha having to interfere. When Armando Meira, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 78 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Oscar Saldanha was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a little luck, Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha got control of the ball when César Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Squadra Demarchi support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
