The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Wolves FC - DMZ booed when Goblins F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Pedro Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Bruninho Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Nilton Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Veloso having to interfere. Marcos Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Zé Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Goblins F.C. getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Zé Pedro Mendes hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, Wolves FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Botelho to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Zé Pedro Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goblins F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Pedro Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enio Azevedo during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Enio Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tião Custódio was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Wolves FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Wanderson Lopez. A long shot from Waldemar Ramos in the 51st minute of play was well struck, but Zé Veloso made a really good save at the right post. Gilberto Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Dráuzio Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Waldemar Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goblins F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilton Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Tião Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Pedro Mendes struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Zé Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goblins F.C.. After having played for 90 minutes, Marcos Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goblins F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Berger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
