Adhemar Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Lira in the 5th minute of the match. Adhemar Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Soares in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Romeu Lira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Adhemar Vergílio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zé Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseu Toscano in the 19th minute. When Lucas de Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Capibaribe Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas de Almeida couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Wolves FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Délio Soares hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the game, Eliseu Toscano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Zé Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 27th minute Délio Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Eliseu Toscano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zé Veloso. The goal made the score 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiaguinho Velloso in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adhemar Vergílio saved Capibaribe Stars from getting behind. In the 42nd minute, Edgar Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute Romeu Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adhemar Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseu Toscano was the one to do the kick off. Zé Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 63 minutes on the clock, Edgar Paraíba commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 62 minutes into the game, one of Capibaribe Stars:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Wolves FC - DMZ a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Severino Botelho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capibaribe Stars's Adhemar Vergílio. 2-2. After 67 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luiz Brito. Capibaribe Stars's Adhemar Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Capibaribe Stars from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiaguinho Velloso got free with Adhemar Vergílio in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Glauco Catarinense hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the game, Capibaribe Stars's Eliseu Toscano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Veloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. 85 minutes into the match, Wolves FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Antunes came free, but Zé Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Pedro Luiz Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Wolves FC - DMZ booed when Capibaribe Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adilson Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adhemar Vergílio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tiaguinho Velloso. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Gilberto Ceresso took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Adhemar Vergílio to make any attempt to save it. Capibaribe Stars succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Wolves FC - DMZ had controlled the match.
