The corner ended in Pedro Paulo Peixoto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MALZBIER's Rodriguinho Zonta did a great save. 10 minutes into the match, JFSP's Zé Carlos Vargas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodriguinho Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jairo Moura got a throw-in 13 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gilvan Vergílio. Giorgi Mamardashvili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Figueiredo in the 15th minute of the match. Rodriguinho Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Zé Carlos Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Zonta having to interfere. Dida Chaves hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Adilson Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilvan Vergílio might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giorgi Mamardashvili. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilvan Vergílio ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Carlos Vargas in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodriguinho Zonta saved MALZBIER from getting behind. Zé Carlos Vargas struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Rodriguinho Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for JFSP. 38 minutes into the game, Adrianinho Sarmento threw the ball into play from the sideline. JFSP's William Barbosa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Zé Carlos Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, JFSP's Giorgi Mamardashvili got control of the ball when Tomás Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Zé Carlos Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot. JFSP's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos Vargas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonardo Martins's late challenge caught a MALZBIER's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Martins helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of MALZBIER booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto Figueiredo to make the kick off. Carlos Alberto Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Giorgi Mamardashvili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of MALZBIER booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto Figueiredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giorgi Mamardashvili was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the match, MALZBIER's Adilson Palmeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giorgi Mamardashvili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th minute Dida Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute of the match Dorian Terra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Giorgi Mamardashvili skillfully saved the ball. When JFSP's Zé Carlos Vargas in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MALZBIER's goalie prevented a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched JFSP eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
