When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Ricardinho Simão put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Claudinho Teixeira. The referee ignored SALIMEN's protests and gave Dráuzio Santos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Dráuzio Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Ricardinho Simão took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Claudinho Teixeira to make any attempt to save it. 20 minutes into the game, Lenílson de Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SALIMEN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube do Remo MZ the free kick. After 20 played minutes SALIMEN got a freekick which was hit by Lenílson de Castro. In the 27th minute, Aníbal Branco made a precise shot to the right of Anderson Meira. Clube do Remo MZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Carlos Toscano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Claudinho Teixeira. That made the score 3-1 in the 29 minute of play. After 32 played minutes SALIMEN got a freekick which was hit by José Vítor Paiva. Clube do Remo MZ were furious when Hélder Mangueira was red carded, 35 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of SALIMEN booed when Clube do Remo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If José Vítor Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute of the match Elivélton Valladares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinho Teixeira skillfully saved the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Branco came free, but Anderson Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Branco in the 43rd minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Anderson Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

A collision led to SALIMEN getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Marcel Romero hit a great ball. Anderson Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Baptista in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Vítor Paiva got free with Anderson Meira in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudinho Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardinho Simão's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Júlio Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Clube do Remo MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Mazza couldn't finish the play. If Ricardinho Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Ricardinho Simão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SALIMEN's Claudinho Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Simão in the 76th minute of play. Ricardinho Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80thth minute of the game Ricardinho Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SALIMEN's Claudinho Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claudinho Teixeira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardinho Simão's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Claudinho Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardinho Simão in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, SALIMEN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Guerra to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to SALIMEN getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. José Vítor Paiva hit a great ball. Naldo da Cunha hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 94thth minute of the game Ricardinho Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SALIMEN's Claudinho Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Clube do Remo MZ had won after a very even match.
