Cléber Neiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Baltazar Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Carioca having to interfere. Cléber Neiva came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Figueira SC FSCMZ's Waldemar Maranhense. But to his dismay, Waldemar Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Alexsandro Carioca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baltazar Vidal went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the match, Figueira SC FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Jacinto came free, but Alexsandro Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldemar Maranhense charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Hermínio Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético-PR's protests and gave Hermínio Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. Hermínio Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Cléber Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Arantes in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Atlético-PR's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Maranhense came free, but Cléber Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aníbal Netto lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atlético-PR! In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Figueira SC FSCMZ. Joel Rosado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cléber Neiva. 1-5.

Figueira SC FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético-PR the free kick. Alexsandro Carioca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermínio Medeiros's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Cléber Neiva made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Waldemar Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Simão Pinheiro took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Cléber Neiva to make any attempt to save it. Rogério Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Sérgio Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexsandro Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Medeiros in the 91st minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Figueira SC FSCMZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
