The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes PREZULO FC got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Chaves. Válbson Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Christiano Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Cachaça FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luís Fernando Vaz hit a great ball. 12 minutes into the match, PREZULO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Nascimento came free, but Christiano Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilson de Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the PREZULO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilson de Sousa couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Jefferson de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cachaça FC's Egídio de Castro got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Válbson Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. PREZULO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to PREZULO FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Miguel Chaves hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes Cachaça FC got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson de Souza. In the 28th minute, Jefferson de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute of the match Válbson Carvalho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto de Godoi skillfully saved the ball. Ernesto de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson de Sousa in the 31st minute of play. Jefferson de Souza's late challenge caught a PREZULO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jefferson de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. Jefferson de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Cachaça FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PREZULO FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Ernesto de Godoi, was totally fooled by PREZULO FC's Válbson Carvalho, who 39 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Christiano Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After some careless play in the PREZULO FC defense, Luisão Pimenta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christiano Figueiredo. The PREZULO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christiano Figueiredo should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Válbson Carvalho made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Osvaldo Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachaça FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in PREZULO FC's zone, Luisão Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Figueiredo came out of the goal and Luisão Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christiano Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Nascimento in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Válbson Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto de Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When PREZULO FC's Válbson Carvalho in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cachaça FC's goalie prevented a goal. 75 minutes into the match, PREZULO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fernando Vaz came free, but Christiano Figueiredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Válbson Carvalho in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto de Godoi saved Cachaça FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Carvalho in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto de Godoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cachaça FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
