LULU TRICOLOR's Wanderson Cordeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Carlos Arantes in the 23rd minute of play. Frédson Fernandez got his second yellow card in the match during the 24th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of LULU TRICOLOR booed when São Paulo Leste F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédson Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. LULU TRICOLOR's Gernando Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The throw-in from Ernani Amaral in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by LULU TRICOLOR's Oscar Ferraz. Gernando Moreira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronaldo Almeida came out and tried to block the shot, but Gernando Moreira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 38th minute. The supporters of São Paulo Leste F.C. booed when LULU TRICOLOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hudson Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, LULU TRICOLOR's goal looked a bit too open when José Carlos Arantes came free, but Wanderson Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half São Paulo Leste F.C. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ernani Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Ronaldo Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Moreira in the 58th minute of play. Frank Borges's late challenge caught a LULU TRICOLOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Borges helped the player get up and apologised. Ronaldo Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gernando Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute.
