The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Ronaldo Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo Leste F.C. from getting a goal against them. Mané Alvarenga hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the game, Eurico Mazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maverick Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Paulo Leste F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Maverick Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eurico Mazza hit a great ball. In the 44th minute Frank Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Almeida made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Percival Marinho sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Carlos Arantes was the one to do the kick off. José Carlos Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ronaldo Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Maverick Futebol Clube's Norberto de Carvalho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Norberto de Carvalho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Maverick Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Norberto de Carvalho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Maverick Futebol Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! The referee gave São Paulo Leste F.C. a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ernani Amaral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maverick Futebol Clube's Caio dos Santos. 1-1. Ronaldo Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 76th minute, São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Frank Borges ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Caio dos Santos. Caio dos Santos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 79th minute Percival Marinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caio dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Carlos Arantes in the 84th minute. After 85 played minutes Maverick Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Percival Marinho. São Paulo Leste F.C.'s Ronaldo Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Percival Marinho in the 99th minute of play. São Paulo Leste F.C. were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Maverick Futebol Clube's much stronger midfield.
