The crowd rose to their feet as Matanza and Steelers's Indiana Jones slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hélder de Queiroz. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. Wágner Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matías Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Matanza and Steelers's Matías Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Miranda in the 13th minute of play. Matanza and Steelers's Ronaldinho Carneiro suffered a concussion after 14 minutes and had to leave the field. Luís Neiva's late challenge caught a Matanza and Steelers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. Matanza and Steelers made a substitution. Gernando de Senna replaced Ronaldinho Carneiro. After 17 played minutes Matanza and Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Indiana Jones. After a rather tough play, Matanza and Steelers's Falcão Zanette got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matanza and Steelers! If Indiana Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matías Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Miranda in the 38th minute of play. Matías Quirino came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by 20 DE SETEMBRO's Alessandro Neves. But to his dismay, Alessandro Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Hélder de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando de Senna in the 43rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Matanza and Steelers's Aílton Montenegro got a free kick in the 44th minute. Alessandro Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matías Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wágner Miranda to make the kick off. Hélder de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando de Senna in the 52nd minute of the match. Hélder de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indiana Jones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Indiana Jones in the 70th minute of play forced 20 DE SETEMBRO's goalkeeper Hélder de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Alessandro Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Matanza and Steelers booed when 20 DE SETEMBRO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edinho Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wágner Miranda got free with Matías Quirino in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 88 minutes into the match, 20 DE SETEMBRO's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Hélder de Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dedê Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Alessandro Neves struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Matías Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 20 DE SETEMBRO. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. 20 DE SETEMBRO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
