An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Catarinense in the 18th minute of play forced Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Nilson Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fábio Carioca during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Simão de Lara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Ian Brasil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 45 played minutes ֆքօʀȶɨռɢ ʊǟɨ ʍʐƈ™ got a freekick which was hit by Severino Rodrigues. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
