After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Gilvan Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xiboquinha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilvan Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Breno Moreno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Xiboquinha FC's Joel Pernambucano got a free kick in the 15th minute. Aguinhas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maurício Toscano in the 17th minute. Aguinhas's Maurício Toscano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jefferson Goiano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Joel Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Jefferson Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Tróia in the 24th minute of the match. Aguinhas were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Xiboquinha FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maurício Toscano took the corner. The corner ended in Maurício Toscano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Xiboquinha FC's Jefferson Goiano did a great save. 28 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Tróia came free, but Jefferson Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celsinho Tróia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Celsinho Tróia's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. In the 79th minute, Joélson Lopez made a precise shot to the right of Breno Moreno. Aguinhas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jefferson Goiano made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Augusto Guedes sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Xiboquinha FC defense, Celsinho Tróia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jefferson Goiano. The Xiboquinha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jefferson Goiano should have stopped the shot. Breno Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilvan Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute Marcelo Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Xiboquinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Quintal to maneuver through the defense. Aguinhas's Olívio Cerezo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jefferson Goiano but with some difficulty. The Aguinhas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aguinhas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
