Falcão Paraense was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. Maicon Nunes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zézinho Paraense. 1-0. Zézinho Paraense made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when José Paulo Souto sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th match minute, Paulista F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Donato to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, José Paulo Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulista F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Paraense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diego Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vae Victis!!'s Zézinho Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Salgado in the 29th minute of play. Diego Pinheiro hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, José Paulo Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paulista F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Paulo Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Paulo Soutos short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Zézinho Paraense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

José Paulo Souto took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zézinho Paraense. Zézinho Paraense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Maicon Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Maicon Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zézinho Paraense was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Souto in the 84th minute of play forced Vae Victis!!'s goalkeeper Zézinho Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Souto in the 86th minute of play. José Paulo Souto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zézinho Paraense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. If José Paulo Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulista F.C walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
