Rubinho Perez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Antônio Carlos de Castro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlinhos Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Rubinho Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antônio Carlos de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Perez in the 29th minute of play. Antônio Carlos de Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcel Severo in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Maicon Nunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Miranda. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maicon Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 38 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto Alvarenga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paulista F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA the free kick. A collision led to Paulista F.C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Carlos Augusto Alvarenga hit a great ball. Rubinho Velasco's late challenge caught a Paulista F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubinho Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubinho Velasco to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubinho Perez got free with Antônio Carlos de Castro in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho Salgado in the 48th minute of play forced FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's goalkeeper Thiago Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Paulo Souto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Nunes came free, but Thiago Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcel Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Paulista F.C booed when FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maicon Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Paulista F.C's Carlos Augusto Alvarenga got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Antônio Carlos de Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubinho Perez in the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Rubinho Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Nunes in the 82nd minute of play forced FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's goalkeeper Thiago Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Aníbal Tróia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thiago Miranda. That made the score 1-2 in the 84 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Perez in the 88th minute of play forced Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos de Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Rubinho Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Thiago Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA from getting a goal against them. Thiago Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Nunes in the 97th minute of the match. Paulista F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
