The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Sandro da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antônio Carlos de Castro was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 33rd minute, Hermínio Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Augusto Alvarenga hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Maicon Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Cruz having to interfere. Antônio Carlos de Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When Jacinto Duarte came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Desportivo Lucca MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Duarte couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Antônio Carlos de Castro made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Sandro da Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. In the 54thth minute of the game Sandro da Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paulista F.C's Antônio Carlos de Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Paulista F.C's Frédson Seco got a free kick in the 55th minute. After some careless play in the Paulista F.C defense, Jacinto Duarte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antônio Carlos de Castro. The Paulista F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antônio Carlos de Castro should have stopped the shot. Luizinho Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos de Castro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Duarte. Sandro da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Antônio Carlos de Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Desportivo Lucca MZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
