In the 9th minute Cássio Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizão Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Flavinho Garcia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luizão Braga. Flavinho Garcia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Davi Proença's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chicão Oliveira was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Paes in the 16th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Luizão Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Trindade Atlético Club booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Catugi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iuri Viana to maneuver through the defense. Glauco de Amorim charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Glauco de Amorim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chicão Oliveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Trindade Atlético Club's Cássio Paes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luizão Braga. That made the score 2-2 after 48 minutes of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cássio Paes made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco de Amorim got free with Chicão Oliveira in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Gustavo do Valle was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After 59 minutes, Emílio da Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trindade Atlético Club and the Catugi FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emílio da Silva hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Catugi FC's Luizão Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Paes in the 63rd minute of play. Yan Pereira succeeded in the game's 65th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-2. Chicão Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Davi Proença sent off a good shot on target. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Paes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-3. If Glauco de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Davi Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chicão Oliveira was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Davi Proença capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Davi Proença really showed his touch with that goal: 6-4. 97 minutes into the game, Iuri Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catugi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trindade Atlético Club the free kick. Trindade Atlético Club's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
