The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Edgard de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, A.A.100Qualidade's Christian de Barros got a free kick in the 9th minute. Horácio Veiga came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Galo do Japi's Ademir Carvalho. But to his dismay, Ademir Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Thiago Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thiago Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, A.A.100Qualidade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Queirós to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute Dráusio Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademir Vale's late challenge caught a Galo do Japi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ademir Vale helped the player get up and apologised. Galo do Japi made a substitution. Fábio Nascimento replaced Denílson Urbano. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when A.A.100Qualidade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Toscano in the 29th minute of play forced A.A.100Qualidade's goalkeeper Horácio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Luís Paulo Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 minutes of play, Galo do Japi's Ademir Carvalho made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horácio Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benedito Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 42nd minute Fábio Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thiago Queirós was the one to do the kick off. Diogo Breckenfeld's late challenge caught a A.A.100Qualidade's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diogo Breckenfeld helped the player get up and apologised. Benedito Nóbrega came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by A.A.100Qualidade's Luís Paulo Donatello. But to his dismay, Luís Paulo Donatello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Benedito Nóbrega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A.A.100Qualidade's Horácio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Madureira in the 62nd minute of play. Benedito Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Délio Vargas in the 64th minute of the match. Kléber Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Délio Vargas came free, but Benedito Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Benedito Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A.A.100Qualidade's Horácio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Nascimento in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Délio Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Diogo Breckenfeld hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Luís Paulo Donatello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 78 minutes into the match, A.A.100Qualidade's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Madureira came free, but Horácio Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Orlando Arruda made a precise shot to the right of Horácio Veiga. A.A.100Qualidade's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. After a defensive mix-up in A.A.100Qualidade's zone, Orlando Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio Veiga came out of the goal and Orlando Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Horácio Veiga made a huge save. Horácio Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Arruda in the 86th minute. After 87 minutes, Délio Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.A.100Qualidade and the Galo do Japi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 87th match minute, A.A.100Qualidade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Vargas to maneuver through the defense. Luís Madureira struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Horácio Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galo do Japi. A.A.100Qualidade's Horácio Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save A.A.100Qualidade from getting a goal against them. Luís Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Horácio Veiga made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galo do Japi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
