The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Marcinho Meirelles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rubens Arósio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Carlos Augusto Velasco hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Marcinho Meirelles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcinho Meirelles got free with Rubens Arósio in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Léo Jardim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Xavier in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Carlos Augusto Velasco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fala Sério FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ the free kick. The supporters of Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ booed when Fala Sério FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Jardim having to interfere. When Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Marcinho Meirelles in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fala Sério FC's goalie prevented a goal. Rubens Arósio made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Cesinha Saraiva sent off a good shot on target. Afonso Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Fala Sério FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Pitta. 38 minutes into the match, Fala Sério FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Meirelles came free, but Rubens Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho Meirelles in the 41st minute of play forced Fala Sério FC's goalkeeper Rubens Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Marinho to maneuver through the defense. If Rafinha Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Messias in the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcinho Meirelles to make the kick off. When Rafinha Abraão fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fala Sério FC's protests and gave Rafinha Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fala Sério FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rafinha Abraão hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Cesinha Saraiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rubens Arósio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcinho Meirelles in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubens Arósio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rafinha Abraão was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 66th match minute, Fala Sério FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafinha Abraão to maneuver through the defense. After 72 played minutes Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Medeiros. Silvinho Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ's Cesinha Saraiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubens Arósio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Víktor Breckenfeld during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Fala Sério FC booed when Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Víktor Breckenfeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Cesinha Saraiva notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Fala Sério FC's Rubens Arósio. Rubens Arósio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rubens Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Cesinha Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Arósio having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cruzmaltinos FC - DMZ had won after a very even match.
