Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tião Castro in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Belmiro Meira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Doni Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Doni Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo MZRJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Doni Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo do Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juvenal Cruz hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal Cruz in the 23rd minute of play forced COURO COME FC's goalkeeper Hugo do Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubinho Tavares scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Belmiro Meira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Doni Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo do Valle. COURO COME FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Hugo do Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doni Gonçalves in the 32nd minute. If Rubinho Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. Botafogo MZRJ's Juvenal Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juvenal Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Gonçalves made a kick off. COURO COME FC's Hugo do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Gonçalves in the 54th minute of play. Hugo do Valle came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo MZRJ's Juvenal Cruz. But to his dismay, Juvenal Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 66 minutes into the game, Tião Castro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. COURO COME FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo MZRJ the free kick. The supporters of Botafogo MZRJ booed when COURO COME FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tião Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Doni Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo do Valle. COURO COME FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Hugo do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Cruz in the 78th minute of play. Juvenal Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute of the match, Iuri Koehler got a very nice opportunity to score, but Belmiro Meira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hugo do Valle came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo MZRJ's Renan Santana. But to his dismay, Renan Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 92nd minute, Dráusio de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 minutes, Iuri Koehler made it 6-2 with a short kick to the right side. Botafogo MZRJ's Belmiro Meira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Botafogo MZRJ fully deserved thier win.
