The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Deivid Vinhas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nilson de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Montevideo's Ruy Loureiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, Deivid Vinhas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montevideo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Nilson de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ruy Loureiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlinhos Sergipano in the 13th minute. Nilson de Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitório Correia charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitório Correia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Montevideo booed when B-S-L was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilson de Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruninho Trigo went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, Olavo Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tadeu Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 played minutes Montevideo got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Tróia. 32 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Carlinhos Sergipano came free, but Ruy Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deivid Vinhas to strike the kick off in the second half. Ruy Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to B-S-L getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. João Adolfo Fontes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruninho Trigo in the 59th minute of play forced B-S-L's goalkeeper Nilson de Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Montevideo's Deivid Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nilson de Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Tadeu Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Nilson de Amorim made a huge save. Montevideo's Ruy Loureiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Adolfo Fontes in the 68th minute of play. Ruy Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Fontes came free, but Ruy Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson de Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bruninho Trigo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 72 minute of play. With a little luck, B-S-L's Nilson de Amorim got control of the ball when Deivid Vinhas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nilson de Amorim came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Bruninho Trigo. But to his dismay, Bruninho Trigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. 94 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Fontes came free, but Ruy Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
