In the 55th minute, Ediberto Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonardo Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Nilson de Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Fontes in the 63rd minute of play. Leonardo Lago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Nilson de Amorim made a huge save. The supporters of B-S-L booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Alberto Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. B-S-L's Carlinhos Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Alberto Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Breckenfeld, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvinho Araújo during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. B-S-L made a substitution. In the 85thth minute of the game João Adolfo Fontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Paulo F.C.'s Carlos Alberto Rossi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 90 played minutes B-S-L got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Fontes. For all the effort they put into the match, the São Paulo F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for B-S-L.
