In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibis Football Club's goalkeeper Eusébio Gaúcho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Bene Animatus's Nelsinho Salgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusébio Gaúcho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Bene Animatus got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Damião. When Reginaldo Linares fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibis Football Club's protests and gave Reginaldo Linares a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Ibis Football Club:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bene Animatus:s goal. Ibis Football Club:s Eusébio Gaúcho showed great skill when he stopped Horácio Soares:s penalty. After 25 minutes of play, Bene Animatus's Horácio Soares made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eusébio Gaúcho was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Bene Animatus's Nildo Rezende in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After the first half Bene Animatus were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Nildo Rezende got free with Eusébio Gaúcho in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Nelsinho Salgado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eusébio Gaúcho. That made the score 0-3 in the 95 minute of play. Bene Animatus's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
