Xurupita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C o n f i a n ç a - SE the free kick. In the 11thth minute of the game Enio Furtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xurupita FC's Léo Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Simões hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Nico Abraão charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Abraão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Léo Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Furtado in the 25th minute of the match. During the 27th minute of the match Manuel Simões completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Manuel Simões a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to C o n f i a n ç a - SE getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Manuel Simões hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Rony Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th match minute, Xurupita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué da Mata to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Xurupita FC booed when C o n f i a n ç a - SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaká Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Enio Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C o n f i a n ç a - SE's protests and gave Enio Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C o n f i a n ç a - SE getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Enio Furtado hit a great ball. Nico Abraão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlos Augusto Fantini. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

C o n f i a n ç a - SE made a substitution. Dino Senna replaced Vinícius Alves. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rony Vargas to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, João Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's supporters rose to their feet, but João Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Léo Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xurupita FC's Léo Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Xurupita FC from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, João Reis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C o n f i a n ç a - SE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 64 minutes, Olavo Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amauri Quintal hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Olavo Carioca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Léo Pires having to make a save. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's João Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Leonel Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 88 played minutes Xurupita FC got a freekick which was hit by Rony Vargas. Joaquim Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Leonel Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Fantini having to interfere. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
