The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes FÊNIX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Maranhense. After 7 played minutes Tenha Dó Dó Dó got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Vasconcelos. When Wellington Vasconcelos came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Tenha Dó Dó Dó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. Alexandre de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Tenha Dó Dó Dó got a freekick which was hit by Arí Aguiar. Frederico Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Tenha Dó Dó Dó's Carlos Salgado got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Saldanha in the 19th minute of play forced Tenha Dó Dó Dó's goalkeeper Frederico Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tenha Dó Dó Dó's attentive Wellington Vasconcelos managed to snatch the ball when Aílton Pinheiro made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 24th minute of the match Manfredo de Salles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artur Maranhense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Mário Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FÊNIX F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ezequiel Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 38 minutes into the game, Carlos Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tenha Dó Dó Dó's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FÊNIX F.C. the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Tenha Dó Dó Dó was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Salgado to maneuver through the defense. Armando Saldanha struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Frederico Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FÊNIX F.C.. Walmyr de Salles charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmyr de Salles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walmyr de Salles hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Armando Saldanha was the one to do the kick off. Mário Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 55th minute of the match Carlos Salgado completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Carlos Salgado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of FÊNIX F.C. booed when Tenha Dó Dó Dó was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederico Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 59 minutes, Cauan Gaúcho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tenha Dó Dó Dó and the FÊNIX F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Cauan Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute, Armando Saldanha made a precise shot to the right of Frederico Queiroz. Tenha Dó Dó Dó's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. FÊNIX F.C. made a substitution. Giovani Palmeira replaced Ronaldo Bastos. Wellington Vasconcelos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artur Maranhense having to make a save. After 71 minutes of play, FÊNIX F.C.'s Mário Matorin made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frederico Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tenha Dó Dó Dó's Elano Botelho was substituted for Alexandre de Barros. Fernando Ribeiro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. FÊNIX F.C.'s Artur Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kauã de Souza in the 77th minute of play. Kauã de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Artur Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
