The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Toninho Schmidt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinei Goiano's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Wambalamba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Gonçalves came free, but Naldo Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Héctor Hernández had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Naldo Mello. Wambalamba FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Héctor Hernández was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Paulo Renato Gonçalves put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Naldo Mello. In the 22nd minute Héctor Hernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Héctor Hernández in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Naldo Mello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Naldo Mello came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by MAZER SAF's Paulo Renato Gonçalves. But to his dismay, Paulo Renato Gonçalves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Héctor Hernández kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 33 minutes, Claudinei Vianna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAZER SAF and the Wambalamba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, MAZER SAF's Claudinei Vianna got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Hamílton Campidelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Wambalamba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Favoretto came free, but Naldo Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Naldo Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. If Adhemar da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, MAZER SAF's Doriva Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Naldo Mello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Héctor Hernández made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Wambalamba FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Belmiro Cerezo hit a great ball. The supporters of MAZER SAF booed when Wambalamba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Gabriel Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. MAZER SAF made a substitution. Jerônimo Baiano replaced Enéas Marinho. After a rather tough play, Wambalamba FC's Tiago Gabriel Fernandez got a free kick in the 61st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Wambalamba FC's zone, Héctor Hernández stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Naldo Mello came out of the goal and Héctor Hernández tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 64 minutes of play, MAZER SAF's Héctor Hernández made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Naldo Mello was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 66 played minutes Wambalamba FC got a freekick which was hit by Dinei Goiano. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Héctor Hernández in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Naldo Mello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Naldo Mello made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Luís Gustavo Recife sent off a good shot on target. In the 73rd match minute, Wambalamba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Couto to maneuver through the defense. Naldo Mello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Héctor Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luís Gustavo Recife fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAZER SAF's protests and gave Luís Gustavo Recife a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Luís Gustavo Recife left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MAZER SAF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. In the 93rd minute Héctor Hernández shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The MAZER SAF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
