Germano do Vale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Alvi Verde's Germano do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Goiano in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the game, Anísio Pitta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alvi Verde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sagarana Clube the free kick. After a rather tough play, Alvi Verde's Anísio Pitta got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute Tostão Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Aguiar in the 29th minute of play forced Alvi Verde's goalkeeper Germano do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Manoel Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sidnei Trigo was the one to do the kick off.
