In the 12th minute Alberto Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Kaká Camargo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sumaré Sport Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marzagão the free kick. In the 13th minute, Kaká Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Cleiton Paulista from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got Luizinho Tasso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sumaré Sport Club's Luizinho Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Sumaré Sport Club from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the game, Marzagão's Leonardo Vides nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luizinho Tasso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Fabiano de Queiroz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luizinho Tasso. That made the score 3-0 in the 19 minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Neil Mar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luizinho Tasso, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Sumaré Sport Club's Sebastião Prestes got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 25 minutes, Fabiano de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marzagão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiano de Queiroz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erik de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizinho Tasso was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Pedrinho Fontes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pedrinho Fontes really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. If Erik de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Sumaré Sport Club booed when Marzagão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrinho Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Alberto Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Leonardo Vides dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luizinho Tasso, 6-0. Marzagão's Remo Borges was substituted for Leonardo Vides. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik de Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luizinho Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Carlos Eduardo da Silveira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Eduardo da Silveira really showed his touch with that goal: 6-1. Erik de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Sumaré Sport Club's Erik de Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Luís Fernandez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 65 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Paulista. In the 70th minute, Neil Mar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marzagão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. In the 74th minute Fabiano de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sumaré Sport Club's Erik de Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neil Mar scored 8-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luizinho Tasso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Fabiano de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luizinho Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Erik de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Rosa in the 92nd minute of play forced Sumaré Sport Club's goalkeeper Luizinho Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luizinho Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remo Borges in the 93rd minute of play. Luizinho Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Mar in the 95th minute of play. Erik de Lima struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sumaré Sport Club. There was no doubt that Marzagão were the better team. Marzagão's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
