The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Manly FC's Kent Barling slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carver Watman. That made the score 1-0 after 2 minutes of play. Harry Cool's attentive Abe Jackson managed to snatch the ball when Stan Peplow made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. The supporters of Manly FC booed when Harry Cool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abe Jackson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neale Franklin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Carver Watman made a huge save. Duffield Osbiston kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Harry Cool's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Barling came free, but Carver Watman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Harry Cool's Kirk Andrews got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Harry Cool's Cole Staggard got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carver Watman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neale Franklin, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Carver Watman made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Stevie Gerrard sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Manly FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Burtt Cusbert hit a great ball. Harry Cool's Cole Staggard got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Kaine to make the kick off. Harry Cool's Carver Watman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Barling in the 55th minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Manly FC's Kent Barling made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carver Watman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kirby Chant was a little too slow when Cole Staggard got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 2-1. Harry Cool's Carver Watman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Barling in the 64th minute of play. Carver Watman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Gerrard in the 67th minute of the match. After 67 minutes, Barth Spinder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harry Cool and the Manly FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Harry Cool getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Barth Spinder hit a great ball. Harry Cool's Herbert Bailey was substituted for Cole Staggard. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevie Gerrard in the 71st minute of play forced Harry Cool's goalkeeper Carver Watman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manly FC's Niles Kuskoff was substituted for Marcus Didlick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Manly FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Harry Cool:s goal. 81 minutes into the game, Manly FC's Stevie Gerrard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carver Watman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 83 played minutes Manly FC got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Gerrard. 86 minutes into the match, Kent Barling notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Harry Cool's Carver Watman. Carver Watman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carver Watman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Gerrard in the 92nd minute of the match. Manly FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
