Joseph Venz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Broderick Grieve, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Abbotsford FC fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Abbotsford FC's Bruno Erwin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 14th minute, Jeremy Mcjunkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Broderick Grieve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Venz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Southern Thrashers's goalkeeper Duke Berresford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Erwin. Duke Berresford was a little too slow when Jenkins Bielski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Duke Berresford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Mcjunkins in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Bruno Erwin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abbotsford FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Erwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Duke Berresford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jenkins Bielski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abbotsford FC's Jenkins Bielski got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andres Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Southern Thrashers's goal looked a bit too open when Jenkins Bielski came free, but Duke Berresford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Abbotsford FC's Duke Berresford threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bruno Erwin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jenkins Bielski was the one to do the kick off. Jason Shipman took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duke Berresford. Duke Berresford dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 67th minute, Murphy Lascelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Jenkins Bielski made a precise shot to the right of Duke Berresford. Southern Thrashers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Broderick Grieve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Joseph Venz made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jenkins Bielski in the 93rd minute of play forced Southern Thrashers's goalkeeper Duke Berresford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
