Spectators: 170 (Terracing: 128, Seating: 39, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Inocente Romai started the match with the kick off. When Cristo Quijada fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's protests and gave Cristo Quijada a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Berenjenas de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Cristo Quijada hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, Linterna verde's Domingos Bobadilla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hondo Iribarria. Hondo Iribarria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's zone, Paz Arciniega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hondo Iribarria came out of the goal and Paz Arciniega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xalvador Guixot's late challenge caught a Linterna verde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xalvador Guixot helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Domingos Bobadilla rounded Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Ladislao Prat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linterna verde's supporters rose to their feet, but Ladislao Prat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hondo Iribarria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Bobadilla came free, but Hondo Iribarria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Gaueko Sevillano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hondo Iribarria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Cristo Quijada cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Selatse Mexia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paz Arciniega during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Berenjenas de Punto Fijo booed when Linterna verde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paz Arciniega didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Linterna verde's Paz Arciniega got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocente Romai in the 39th minute of play forced Linterna verde's goalkeeper Selatse Mexia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingos Bobadilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gaueko Sevillano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaueko Sevillano in the 55th minute of play forced Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Hondo Iribarria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Gaueko Sevillano came free, but Hondo Iribarria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Bobadilla in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hondo Iribarria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Linterna verde's Gaueko Sevillano in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goalie prevented a goal. Hondo Iribarria came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Linterna verde's Domingos Bobadilla. But to his dismay, Domingos Bobadilla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. During the 69th minute of the match Cristo Quijada completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristo Quijada a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 71 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Bobadilla came free, but Hondo Iribarria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raphael Mosquera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Elixio Pedrera fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Hondo Iribarria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Bobadilla in the 82nd minute of the match. Hondo Iribarria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domingos Bobadilla's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Linterna verde's Selatse Mexia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Linterna verde from getting a goal against them. 89 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Gaueko Sevillano came free, but Hondo Iribarria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute Domingos Bobadilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hondo Iribarria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hipolito Padura hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Linterna verde fans cheered their team off the field, for while Berenjenas de Punto Fijo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
