After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Donato Cappucci managed to get in a good position for a shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

But to his dismay, Fausto Iachini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Dino Perna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dino Perna in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Carozza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavio Carozza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto Iachini's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. A hard shot 94 in the game by Fausto Iachini from a close distance when the talented Flavio Carozza managed to make a qualified save. Rosenborg's players were relieved. Carter De Vecchis's late challenge caught a Rosenborg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carter De Vecchis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Atletico Benevento was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carter De Vecchis to maneuver through the defense. Rosenborg's Comunardo Rivera couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 97th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Atletico Benevento. The Rosenborg fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Atletico Benevento were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
