When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Alberigo Ciraci sped through Squadra de Pippe's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Scofield Volante. Aurelio Egger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Biondi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anfilogino Gaeta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Aurelio Egger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Villadeatese FC's goalkeeper Aurelio Egger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Marini. In the 33rd minute, Ciro Biondi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th match minute, Squadra de Pippe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Gaeta to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Villadeatese FC's Fabrizio Cirulli got a free kick in the 38th minute. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Ciro Biondi took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Aurelio Egger to make any attempt to save it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anfilogino Gaeta to make the kick off. Aurelio Egger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anfilogino Gaeta's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Squadra de Pippe's Flavio Scalia got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 85 played minutes Squadra de Pippe got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Biondi. Augusto Marini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Egger having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Squadra de Pippe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Biondi to maneuver through the defense. The Squadra de Pippe manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Villadeatese FC to win.
