After 8 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Guillaume Barillot. In the 9th minute, Firmin Boulogne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dove Roig took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noël Clenet. Noël Clenet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Ramzy Ropert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Noël Clenet made a huge save. After 17 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Côme Durieu. With a little luck, Saint Côme de Fresné's Noël Clenet got control of the ball when Jean-Charles Gauche tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Jean-Charles Gauche took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Noël Clenet to make any attempt to save it. Mustapha Guilbert hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Norbert Domenech stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guillaume Barillot's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Olivier Barnier hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes Herblay got a freekick which was hit by Pacôme Cugnet. Noël Clenet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gildas Montaut in the 40th minute. Noël Clenet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean-Charles Gauche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillaume Barillot was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Herblay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Samuel to maneuver through the defense. Thibaut Abeille's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Norbert Domenech skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Saint Côme de Fresné were furious when Gérard Chambard was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Saint Côme de Fresné! In the 64th minute, Jean-Charles Gauche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Noël Clenet was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Noël Clenet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Charles Gauche, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Herblay's zone, Olivier Barnier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Domenech came out of the goal and Olivier Barnier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Herblay's Mustapha Guilbert got a free kick in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Guillaume Barillot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saint Côme de Fresné's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillaume Barillot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norbert Domenech breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Saint Côme de Fresné defense, Jean-Charles Gauche kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Noël Clenet. The Saint Côme de Fresné fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Noël Clenet should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Saint Côme de Fresné players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Herblay.
