Lamine Araujo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dove Roig, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Jean-Charles Gauche scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lamine Araujo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Barnabé Panel fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Labbeville's protests and gave Barnabé Panel a yellow card for diving instead. Ramzy Ropert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Lamine Araujo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the game, Jérémy Delépine recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Norbert Domenech. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dove Roig stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
