Spectators: 195 (Terracing: 147, Seating: 45, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Yann Scott took the kick off in the first half of the match. Gustave Icard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabri Fouquet having to interfere. A collision led to La Pointe Courte getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Wilfried Mahé hit a great ball. With his leg Thomas Gascon managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when La Pointe Courte's Yann Scott fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Gustave Icard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Gascon came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by La Pointe Courte's Tim Quantin. But to his dismay, Tim Quantin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominique Virapin in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Tim Quantin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27thth minute of the game Yann Scott who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sabri Fouquet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blaise Castera, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yann Scott in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Gascon saved R.C. Marseille from getting behind. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when La Pointe Courte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thibaut Mazieres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the game, R.C. Marseille's Blaise Castera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sabri Fouquet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Omar Suchet struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Sabri Fouquet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.C. Marseille. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Blaise Castera in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sabri Fouquet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. John Holmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomas Gascon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Holmes ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blaise Castera to strike the kick off in the second half. The corner ended in Patxi Seux almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Blaise Castera kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sabri Fouquet. That made the score 2-2 in the 59 minute of play. In the 64th minute, Thibaut Mazieres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. La Pointe Courte made a substitution. Mathys Guigon replaced Dominique Virapin. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when La Pointe Courte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thibaut Mazieres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marseille's Sabri Fouquet threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Blaise Castera, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John Holmes in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Gascon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Mathys Guigon came free, but Thomas Gascon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Gascon came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by La Pointe Courte's John Holmes. But to his dismay, John Holmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. When Gustave Icard fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored R.C. Marseille's protests and gave Gustave Icard a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Gustave Icard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. R.C. Marseille's Thomas Gascon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yann Scott in the 92nd minute of play. La Pointe Courte's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
