The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Atilano Ekialde fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Astros de México's protests and gave Atilano Ekialde a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Astros de México got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Ekialde. In the 6th minute, Anacleto Maore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rigoberto Ilixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anacleto Maore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florentino Eufemio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Rigoberto Ilixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florentino Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th match minute, Astros de México was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Calixto to maneuver through the defense. In the 21stth minute of the game Anacleto Maore who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astros de México's Rigoberto Ilixo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 21 minutes, Anacleto Maore made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Astros de México's Rigoberto Ilixo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Victor Rio got his second yellow card in the match during the 32nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 33 played minutes Equipo got a freekick which was hit by Victor Rio. Rigoberto Ilixo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florentino Eufemio went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Equipo's Godofredo Caradaro got a free kick in the 47th minute. Isidro Ihazintu's late challenge caught a Equipo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isidro Ihazintu helped the player get up and apologised.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anacleto Maore was the one to do the kick off. Rigoberto Ilixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Maore, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a little luck, Astros de México's Rigoberto Ilixo got control of the ball when Anacleto Maore tried to sneak it across the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Astros de México's goalkeeper Rigoberto Ilixo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florentino Eufemio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anacleto Maore got free with Rigoberto Ilixo in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Astros de México booed when Equipo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Florin didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Florentino Eufemio fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Equipo's protests and gave Florentino Eufemio a yellow card for diving instead. After 76 played minutes Equipo got a freekick which was hit by Florentino Eufemio. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anacleto Maore in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rigoberto Ilixo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Equipo booed when Astros de México was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Sidro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Anacleto Maore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rigoberto Ilixo was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. If Florentino Eufemio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Anacleto Maore sped through Astros de México's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rigoberto Ilixo. The Astros de México supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Equipo's performance. The match ended with a win for Equipo.
