López Enciso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Franco Mussoll showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. Jorge Berroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Villafane having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Raúl Lombera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Gabriel Gallego left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Guayaquil FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper López Enciso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franco Mussoll. After a defensive mix-up in Loja S.C.'s zone, Miguel Celama stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. López Enciso came out of the goal and Miguel Celama tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Roque Mora hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camacho Goiri got free with López Enciso in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes, Zornin Calona mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loja S.C. and the Inter de Guayaquil FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute Marcelo Calenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but López Enciso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Franco Mussoll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Franco Mussoll made a precise shot to the right of López Enciso. Loja S.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franco Mussoll made a kick off. López Enciso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Mussoll in the 53rd minute of play. López Enciso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. López Enciso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Calenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the game, Miguel Celama was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loja S.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Miguel Celama got a free kick in the 72nd minute. López Enciso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Gallego, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Franco Mussoll took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised López Enciso. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 87 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Franco Mussoll came free, but López Enciso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. López Enciso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camacho Goiri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Franco Mussoll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Franco Mussoll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. López Enciso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 91 minutes, Gabriel Gallego made it 8-1 with a short kick to the right side. Loja S.C.'s López Enciso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Mussoll in the 95th minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper López Enciso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Inter de Guayaquil FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
