José Ignacio Berguecio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodosio Cerda having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Abel Gana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Teodosio Cerda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Ignacio Berguecio in the 16th minute of play. Club Deportes Santa Cruz:s Teodosio Cerda showed great skill when he stopped Ferrán Casas:s penalty. In the 20th minute, Ferrán Casas made a precise shot to the right of Teodosio Cerda. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Teodosio Cerda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Manuel Vlahovic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Ignacio Berguecio to make the kick off. Teodosio Cerda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Faraggi, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 64th minute, Teodosio Pimentel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodosio Cerda was a little too slow when Aaron Zamorano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-3. The supporters of Club Deportes Santa Cruz booed when CRUZ DEL SUR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Podador Arraño didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Antonio Porras struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Godofredo Mac Intyre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Deportes Santa Cruz. The CRUZ DEL SUR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CRUZ DEL SUR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
